The first telescope to launch was nicknamed Stargazer. Stargazer was launched on December 7, 1968. The data that was collected from Stargazer was collected in ultraviolet. Many galaxies, planets, and comets were observed with this telescope.
The Hubble Space Telescope is probably the most famous telescope of the all. The telescope was name after the astronomer Edwin Hubble. Launched in 1990 and is still in operation in low earth orbit. The Hubble Space Telescope was built by NASA with help from the European Space Agency and operated by the Space Telescope Science Institute.
